Missy S. eine multimediale, zeitgenössische Schweizer Künstlerin, die Medien wie Fotografie, abstrakte Malerei, Mixedmedia und Video-Installationen als Kommunikationsinstrument im Sinne einer Übermittlung der Grundaussage des Werkes benutzt.

«Wir sehen und verstehen die Welt um uns herum durch unsere eigene Wahrnehmung, jedoch wird unsere Wahrnehmung zutiefst von der Welt um uns herum beeinflusst und geprägt. Philosophen, Künstler und alle Arten von Freidenker beschäftigen sich seit Jahrhunderten mit der Frage, was ist Realität?
Realität ist der Zustand der Dinge, wie sie existieren, im Gegensatz zu einer idealistischen oder fiktiven Vorstellung. Realität umfasst alles, was ist und gewesen ist, egal ob es beobachtbar oder nachvollziehbar ist.»,sagt Missy S. selber.

Der abstrakte Expressionismus ist eine künstlerische Bewegung aus der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts, die verschiedene Stile und Techniken umfasst, vor allem aber die Freiheit des Künstlers betont. Haltungen und Emotionen durch nicht-traditionelle und meist nicht-gegenständliche Mittel zu vermitteln.

Fasziniert von Künstler wie Jackson Pollock, Salvador Dali, René Magritte und Mark Rothko fing Missy S. schon in ihrer Jugendzeit an, Stile und Medien miteinander zu verbinden. Die Realität und die Wahrnehmung eines abstrakten Geistes und der Ausdruck der Realität und der Welt, die die Künstlerin umgibt, widerspiegelt die Kunst von Missy S.!
